Phew!

I'm back!  Well, sort of!  I'm back from Vegas, yes.  It was a whirlwind trip jam-packed with bright lights, good friends, lots of food and drink, and of course... casinos.  What they say about Vegas is absolutely true - it's nothing if not a spectacle.

I had planned on being back with a project post today but friends, it's just not going to happen.  I'm completely exhausted, and need to get things unpacked, sorted, and laundered before piles of "stuff" start amassing throughout my house... and not going anywhere!  I hope you understand!

Sooo... I will leave you with a few photos from our trip, just for fun, and urge you to stop back tomorrow for a very, very special guest post.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, and a great start to the week!

view from the rooftop of our hotel...

pedicures at the Bellagio, and pina colodas at the pool...

Beatles LOVE at the Mirage...

limo ride to dinner at Bobby Flay's MESA Grill at Caesar's Palace...
PS)  If you're a Michigander, don't forget about Sunday's Stamp A Stack!  There are still spots available in class - just e-mail me at joanneroehm@yahoo.com and let me know how many cards you'll be making!

Las Vegas - 1 Week To Go!

I'm posting this late, I actually mailed these out last week, but wanted to share my final "Vegas gift" that I sent to our siblings and friends...

(In case you missed it, I'm heading to Vegas for the first time for a long weekend with the hubby, two best friends, and our two brothers.  I'm sending out some little "anticipation gifts" in the weeks leading up to our trip)

I took this pocket map and cut a one inch wide strip of white cardstock to wrap round it, secured with monoadhesive....

I then slid these little 3x3 cards over the "band" I created with the white cardstock...

And of course no Vegas package is complete without a little confetti... I stuffed the envelopes full of it!

So exciting!  Have YOU been to Vegas?  Tell me about your adventures, and what you recommend seeing/eating/doing!

Las Vegas - 2 Weeks to go!

Here's my Vegas mailer for this week!  I'm actually a little behind in both the posting and mailing of these.  We leave this coming Thursday!

(In case you missed it, I'm heading to Vegas for the first time for a long weekend with the hubby, two best friends, and our two brothers.  I'm sending out some little "anticipation gifts" in the weeks leading up to our trip)

I got the plastic shot glasses at Party City, and put a little confetti in the bottom of them.

Can't wait for our trip!!!

Las Vegas - 3 Weeks To Go! (and some cupcakes, too!)

In case you missed it, I'm heading to Vegas for the first time for a long weekend with the hubby, two best friends, and our two brothers.  I'm sending out some little "anticipation gifts" in the weeks leading up to our trip.  Here's what I sent this week...

Each set of dice is packaged in a little bag, with some dollar sign confetti in the bottom!

Stay tuned for gifts for two and one week to go - and see my "four weeks to go!" gift HERE.

And before I go, I just wanted to share a few peaks of the cupcakes Heather and I made on Friday for Travis' grandmother's 90th (yup, 90th!!) birthday party.  Chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with corresponding frostings and fondant flowers.  So fun!

Las Vegas - 4 Weeks to go!

I don't think I've mentioned this... but just four weeks from now I will be making my first visit to Las Vegas, NV.  I can't even remember how the idea for this trip began, but it started back in the fall at a friend's wedding and has turned into what's bound to be a trip of epic proportions!

On May 14, Hubs and I will fly from Grand Rapids, MI, my younger brother Will will fly from Austin, TX, Hubs' younger brother Tyler will fly from wherever he happens to be at the time, and our friends Tim and Terri will fly from Washington DC and we will descend upon Vegas where we'll stay for four days of fun.

We have a six person suite at the Marriott Grand Chateau right on the strip, we're in the process of booking show tickets, and already have plans to do a tour/bar crawl of all of the festive hotel lobbies.  Yes, it's going to get a little crazy!

The trip is going to be extra special because we don't get to see either of our brothers, or our friends Tim and Terri very often at all, being that we all live in different parts of the country.  We can't wait to spend four days with them, make some wonderful memories that we'll cherish for a lifetime, and take a TON of pictures!

We've all been looking forward to this trip for months, and for most of us it will be our first time in Vegas.  To add to the excitement, I thought it would be fun to send everyone a little Vegas-y fun in the mail each week for the last four weeks leading up to our trip.

I got the chocolate casino chips at World Market, and used some cello bags from Stampin' Up! and the Top Note die for my Big Shot Machine to cut the toppers, and printed the image and text on my Mac.

How fun will it be to get these in the mail?!  I'll be sharing with you my Vegas countdown mailers as the weeks go by... be sure to let me know if you have any ideas for me!

Stampin' Up! products used:  Real Red & Whisper White cardstock, Big Shot Machine, Top Note die, 3 inch cello bags, Snail adhesive.  To purchase any of these products, please visit my SU store.
