Sunday's Wash

After becoming a mom, my dear friend Cindy came up with an eco-friendly way to launder her cloth diapers.  It is non-toxic and biodegradable. This product is formulated to clean your cloth diapers with out leaving residue behind. Many commercial cleaners will reduce the absorbancy of your diapers causing leaks. This laundry wash rinses clean and has never caused a breakout or rash on even the most sensitive newborn skin!

Cindy also recommends her laundry wash for use on all your newborn's clothes and linens. It's cheaper than the leading baby detergent! Special enzymes help break down spit-up, baby food, and all sorts of baby messes. Be sure to pre-treat with a stain remover for best results.

Only 1/8 cup is needed per diaper load. Only 18 cents per load!

Lily's Cupcake Party!

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY LILY!

Lily's first birthday party was so much fun! Everything went really well - and despite crazy thunderstorms the night before and much rain that morning - even the weather was cooperating by the afternoon! Check it out! ** WARNING ** This post contains LOTS of photos!

The cupcake spread! We used recipes and some decoration ideas by Saucy at Saucy's Sprinkles. The little wrapped lollipops in the back are Cupcake Pops from Bakerella's blog.

Lily enjoyed her cupcake - even if she didn't know what to make of it at first!

The banner! I enlarged some embroidery templates from Lollychops and cut the cupcakes out of felt. I used a glue gun to attached the two halves of the cupcake together (if I had had more time I would have sewn them...) and then sewed each cupcake to a long pink ribbon with floss and a cute heart shaped button. The letters are peel and stick chipboard letters that I spray painted. I finished it off with some small bows of cupcake ribbon between the cupcakes.

Lily's Aunt Heidi crocheted her this little bunny rabbit. Absolutely adorable!

And just for fun... a few shots of Lily with her new bubble machine in action. Beautiful! Her tee shirt is an Etsy find by the way that her mom ordered...

I gave up trying to make the boys' goody bags cupcake themed - cupcakes aren't very manly. So I just bought plain blue bags, added a tag, and filled it with little boy goodies...

Etsy Love

I just can't explain how big of a proponent of Etsy that I am -- I think that buying handmade and buying locally are so important. I also find shopping on Etsy incredibly convenient - I can find beautiful gifts, often inexpensively, and talk directly with the folks who have created them.

This is such a great little zine filled with crafting ideas galore! You can purchase the zine only, or the zine plus a crafting leftovers kit that has all the materials you need to make a little project. March's issue had some particularly helpful hints about sewing seeds. Wonderful!

Stephanie of Sea Sprite Soaps was wonderful to work with. Not only did I receive the soap I ordered in time for a birthday gift, but she sent me some additional soap samples as well.

I just LOVED the scent of this lilac soap from Angela and Lippincott Soap Company. She sent me some samples as well -- and I will definitely be ordering some of her soaps for myself!

Lastly, I adore these personalized notecards by Viva la Violette. They are so pretty! Heather loved them as well!

Mariah's Get Better Box Update 4 - Thanks, Stephanie!

I found the Pandacub Etsy Shop through Futuregirl's blog and just HAD to order Mariah some of her music note hair accessories. They reminded me of all the little hair things I had when I was a child. I received my order in the mail yesterday and they are so darling!
