When bad things happen to good crafters... and their houses!

If you've been reading for awhile now you'll know that I'm lucky to have my own craft room here in our home.  A dedicated space where I can craft to my hearts content, leave projects half finished on the table, and generally make a mess.

Unfortunately, sometimes crafting seems to explode onto all surfaces in my home.  Take a peak at yesterday's scenes of horror...
The living room coffee table - complete with paper cutter and stamping "stuff"

The dining room table (yes, I brought the computer AND printer downstairs from the office!) - note the box of crayons, cut up magazines, and stacks of cards)

The kitchen counter!  Sharpies, sequins, and kids projects strewn all over the place!

How do I let this happen?  I'm not even that messy of a person!  Argh!  How about you, reader, do you have trouble keeping your craftiness contained?  Please say yes!!!

Haha...I know the feeling! I have a craft room, but that's a little messy at the moment. It's hard when you're working on multiple projects...plus ours is a computer room/office - lots crammed in here!

Uhhhhhmmmmm, YES! And at least your house doesn't have food crumbs etc all over the floor! It's amazing how fast a house can get out-of-control. I think yours looks pretty good and like there is lots of fun going on inside!

Don't be too hard on yourself. In comparison, my house looks like a tornado stormed through!

Hey that doesn't look so bad......lol. I am in the process of creating a craft room and right now ALL of my stuff is in boxes here in the living room and piled up in front of the patio door.....and I was scrapping last night and all my stuff is sprawled out on the kitchen table nd in various kitchen chairs...you are not alone....lol

at least once a week it looks as though a bomb has went off in my house, yard, and studio... I rationalize it as "well I'm being productive." ;)

My house is covered with craft supplies, despite having a large craft studio...

Which by the way is so messy with ongoing (and some not so ongoing) projects that I am dragging crafts to all other surfaces in the house.

I'm going to have my hubby read this- so he'll know it's not just his wife that covers the house with craft supplies. LOL : )

YESS!!
Crafting is inherently messy. Then add to that having children, which is soooo messy. Who doesn't turn around at times and wonder when the tornado ran through their house that left this mess in it's wake!? Good luck. ;( I'm actually doing a super cleaning day today because I was so unhappy with the tornado affect.

Yes, Yes and Yes again...I have so much trouble keeping my art things contained. It usually floats from one room into another and back again. It is a constant path that overflowed or maybe even exploded. Great post, it is right on....

Only true crafters have houses that look that that! :)

I love this post :) This happens to me too, and I have a craft room too! Luckily, I usually will clean up quickly if my mess spills out of the craft room-- otherwise my sweet 3 year old son will get into whatever is out ;)
